South Bay Musical Theatre Presents

Gentlemen Prefer Blondes

Opens February 1, 2014 - Music by Jule Styne. Lyrics by Leo Robin. Book by Anita Loos and Joseph Fields. Adapted from the novel by Anita Loos.

Gentlemen Prefer Blondes

Dorothy Shaw and Lorelei Lee are a team of showgirls who are looking for Mr. Right. While Lorelei definitely wants Mr. Right with a pocketbook to match, Dorothy is just looking for a nice guy. But what will happen when Lorelei's millionaire boyfriend’s father doesn’t approve of the match, and how about throwing in an ocean cruise for good measure? Made into a hit film starring Marilyn Monroe, the madcap stage version of GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES will knock your socks off with humor, glamour, and a toe-tapping Jule Styne score. With great show tunes like “Bye Bye Baby,” “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes,” and “Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend,” you can’t get better than this crazy musical comedy to give you everything you need for a perfect evening of musical fun!
