South Bay Musical Theatre Presents

My Fair Lady

May 20 to June 10, 2017. Book and Lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner. Music by Frederick Loewe. Adapted from George Bernard Shaw’s play and Gabriel Pascal’s motion picture “Pygmalion.”

My Fair Lady

Eliza Doolittle is a poor, cockney flower girl who dreams of a better life. Professor Henry Higgins is the brilliant but crotchety linguist who claims he can teach anyone to speak properly and thereby mix with high society. So begins one of the greatest musical love stories ever to grace the Broadway stage. Follow Eliza’s trials and triumphs as she struggles to turn herself into a “regular lady” under Higgins’ strict tutelage, and ends up having as much of an impact on him as he does on her. Lerner and Loewe’s score is packed with so many hits that it’s difficult to select the highlights: "Wouldn’t It Be Loverly?," "The Rain in Spain," "I Could Have Danced All Night," "On the Street Where You Live," "Get Me to the Church on Time," and "I’ve Gown Accustomed to Her Face." Join us for this crowd-pleasing classic, and you’re sure to fall in love with My Fair Lady all over again.
