UrinetownUrinetown
January 25 to February 15, 2025. Music by Mark Hollmann. Lyrics by Mark Hollmann and Greg Kotis. Book by Greg Kotis. Urinetown was produced on Broadway in September, 2001 by the Araca Group and Dodger Theatricals in association with TheaterDreams, Inc. and Lauren Mitchell. Directed for SBMT by David Mister.

Urinetown is a hilarious musical satire of the legal system, capitalism, social irresponsibility, populism, environmental collapse, privatization of natural resources, bureaucracy, municipal politics, and musical theatre itself! (In fact, it pokes fun at its own controversial title.) Hilariously funny, touchingly honest, and just as relevant today as when it was created 20 years ago, Urinetown provides a fresh perspective on one of America’s greatest art forms. Winner of three Tony Awards, three Outer Critics Circle Awards, two Lucille Lortel Awards, and two Obie Awards.
