Our 2024-2025 slate of shows — comprising Season 62 — promises to be another in a long line of seasons to love. This year we invite you to “escape with us from tragical to the magical” with three mainstage comedies grounded in romance, satire, and fantasy, as well as a pair of concerts that celebrate events at the dawn of the 20th and 21st centuries.  We open in the fall with the classic No, No, Nanette, which runs September 28 to October 19. For our winter musical, we bring you the Saratoga premiere of Urinetown January 25 to February 15. And we close the season with the Lerner & Loewe favorite, Brigadoon, May 17 to June 7. In between, we also bring you another original Broadway By The Decade cabaret presentation and a rare staging of Titanic in Concert.

Sep. 28 – Oct. 19, 2024

Book by Otto Harbach and Frank Mandel. Music by Vincent Youmans. Lyrics by Irving Caesar and Otto Harbach. Adapted and originally directed on Broadway by Burt Shevelove. Directed for SBMT by Doug Green.

No, No, Nanette is a lighthearted romp showcasing the charming music of Vincent Youmans. Even though it was written and first performed 100 years ago, it brought us a couple of songs about happiness that remain popular today: “Tea for Two” and “I Want to Be Happy” – as well as “I’ve Confessed to the Breeze,” “You Can Dance With Any Girl,” and “Take a Little One-Step.”

UrinetownUrinetown

January 25 – February 15, 2025

Music by Mark Hollmann. Lyrics by Mark Hollmann and Greg Kotis. Book by Greg Kotis.

Urinetown is a hilarious musical satire of the legal system, capitalism, social irresponsibility, populism, environmental collapse, privatization of natural resources, bureaucracy, municipal politics, and musical theatre itself! Wickedly funny, touchingly honest, and just as relevant today as when it was created 20 years ago, Urinetown provides a fresh perspective on one of America’s greatest art forms. Winner of three Tony Awards, three Outer Critics Circle Awards, two Lucille Lortel Awards, and two Obie Awards.

Titanic: In ConcertTitanic: In Concert

April 12- 13, 2025

Story and book by Peter Stone. Music and lyrics by Maury Yeston.

Epic and majestic, with moments of heartbreaking intimacy, Titanic, the Musical captures the triumph and tragedy of the hopeful passengers on the ill-fated Ship of Dreams. Because of the show’s extremely challenging technical requirements, Titanic is rarely if ever mounted by community theatres as a fully staged production. Its soaring musical score deserves to be heard, however, and SBMT is proud to mount the production in concert format with a rich orchestra and glorious chorus as a spring fundraiser event that is not to be missed.
