The unveiling of our 2019-2020 season may have garnered the most attention, but the emotional heart and soul of SBMT’s January Members Meeting was the surprise announcement of the past year’s award winners. Here’s what transpired.

- Barbara Goetz with the two bears representing the new Howard Miller “Bless Your Heart” Award. The bear on the left, adorned with logos from the past season, is hers to keep, while the bear on the right will be passed along to next year’s winner.

- SBMT Marketing Director Doug Hughes is surprised with the Fred Hassett Service Award by SBMT Chairman Jay Steele, who laughs uproariously at the successful subterfuge involved in keeping the award a secret.
