South Bay Musical Theatre is seeking an Associate Manager to work closely with the Executive Director supporting multiple functions of our company’s operations: live productions, eStudio (online) productions, education programs, donor management, and fiscal operations. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, a strong communicator, comfortable with changing work demands, and a self-starter. We are open to both experienced individuals and newcomers who are eager to learn theatrical management. A strong interest in theatre would, of course, be helpful!

The Associate Manager will be called upon to support such tasks as

Live production:

  • Assist in coordinating auditions
  • Provide communication support for mainstage shows

Online production:

  • Develop and coordinate eStudio (online) programming.

Education programs:

  • Develop content for workshops
  • Develop outreach to underserved communities

Donor management:

  • Handle donor acknowledgement
  • Support short- and long-term fundraising plans

Fiscal operations:

  • Assist in financial oversight of productions
  • Generate and help manage employment contracts
  • Support Marketing or Box Office as needed.

Qualifications

  • Ability to visit more than one site in a day
  • Digital literacy, with an ability to learn new software tools
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with internal colleagues and with outside constituents
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Able to focus on the details, multi task and be organized.

The part-time Associate Manager position could be a pathway to a full-time management position as our company grows, and could lead to various areas (production positions, development, outreach, executive management, etc.) depending upon the candidate’s interest and SBMT’s needs.

Expected scope (initially) is 16-20 hours per week and $22-25/hour. Hours will be a mix of self-scheduled time plus a few defined requirements (such as production meetings), Benefits not included.
