The Board of South Bay Musical Theatre is pleased to announce that Walter Mayes will direct our production of HAIRSPRAY in spring, 2015. Auditions for the show will be held in October. Walter Mayes Mr. Mayes most recently directed "Promises, Promises" for SBMT in 2013; other shows he's directed for the group include "The Producers" (2009) and "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" (2011). Online volunteer sign-ups for our upcoming production of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels have just been opened, at http://sbmt.ivolunteer.com/scoundrels_lobby. You can also contact the box office at 408-266-4734 to sign up via phone. Lobby volunteers help seat customers, sell concessions, and assist the house manager. It's a great way to help SBMT and see a show (if not sold out). Sign up today!

The SBMT Board of Directors recently announced directors for two of its 2014-15 season shows. Director Kevin Cornelius Kevin Cornelius will direct "Kiss Me Kate," the Cole Porter musical about a group of actors putting on Shakespeare's "Taming of the Shrew." Mr. Cornelius's most recent directorial outing for SBMT was the toe-tapping "42nd Street" in 2011. And of course he recently starred as Gus Esmond in the just-finished production of "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes," as well as playing Eddie Ryan in last season's "Funny Girl."
