“Our Finest Dreams”

Our 2026-2027 slate of shows — comprising Season 64 — will be another year of feel-good stories for your enjoyment. This season is all about “Breaking Barriers and Finding Belonging.” From naïveté to enlightenment, from fear to fellowship—this season explores what happens when we dare to truly see one another.

Our three mainstage musicals are all highly acclaimed productions, and they will be supplemented by a trio of must-see concert events.  We open in the fall with Once Upon a Mattress, which runs September 26 to October 17, 2026. For our winter musical, we bring you the South Bay community theatre premiere of Come From Away January 23 to February 13, 2027. And we close the season with the Pulitzer and Tony-winning Rodgers & Hammerstein classic, South Pacific May 22 to June 12, 2027. In between, our slate includes Holiday Sunshine (December 19-20, 2026) another seasonal salute created by Bob Sunshine and Walter M. Mayes, MusiComedy (February 7, 2027) by SBMT stalwart Brad Handshy, and a special concert version of Leonard Bernstein’s Candide (April 17-18, 2027).

Music by: Leonard Bernstein.
Book adapted from Voltaire by: Hugh Wheeler.
Lyrics by Richard Wilbur. With additional Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and John Latouche.
