On August 11, 2018, the South Bay Musical Theatre Board of Directors held a day-long retreat to make plans for the future of the organization and to discuss ways to build on the company’s recent successes. Diane Milo (director/vocal director for the upcoming production of Mame) led a team-building exercise and brainstorming session to explore ways of increasing the company’s reach into the local community we serve. By the end of the day, the team had filled a white board with a long list of tasks and talents that are required to maintain the affordable quality that we provide.
Are YOU interested in getting involved with SBMT? We welcome volunteers of all kinds. Click here to see some of the roles we are always looking to fill.
Plans were also outlined for the semi-annual Members Meeting that will be held on Sunday, August 26, from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. Agenda will include a special preview of one of the songs from Mame, a peek at 3D renderings of the imaginative set design, introduction of our new board members, updates on new things in the works at SBMT, a summary of last fall’s patron survey, a quick demo of our new website, and an open feedback session in which attendees will be invited to tell us what shows they’d most like to see mounted on the SBMT stage. The event will conclude with a champagne toast to an exciting new season, along with some light snacks. If you are an SBMT member, mark your calendar now, and plan to join us!
Thanks to Synopsys for generously providing the space for our retreat and making us feel welcome.
