After six years as SBMT’s extraordinary Patron Manager, Kama Belloni retired from the position after we opened In The Heights. Fortunately for all of us, she still plans to remain involved as an SBMT volunteer as her time permits.

Kama Belloni has played many roles at SBMT

SBMT Patron Manager Kama Belloni played Gooch in Mame, sang in the quintet of A Little Night Music, and starred as the Abbess in The Sound of Music.

Over the years, Kama has built lasting relationships with countless patrons and donors, becoming one of the warm, welcoming faces audiences have come to associate with SBMT. Whether serving in the box office, managing front of house operations, coordinating volunteers, or organizing our opening night celebrations, Kama brought professionalism, generosity, and genuine care to every aspect of the organization.

Her contributions extended far beyond the lobby. Kama was also part of our grant writing team, helping secure critical funding that sustained SBMT through the challenges of the pandemic. She championed accessibility and inclusivity initiatives, including expanding and helping to fund ASL-interpreted performances for our community.

Audiences will also know Kama as a remarkable performer. Most recently, she graced the stage as Mother Abbess in this season’s The Sound of Music, delivering the kind of moving performance that reminds us why live theatre matters.

In recognition of her extraordinary years of service and dedication to SBMT, Kama was presented with the South Bay Musical Theatre Ovation Award at preview night for In the Heights.

On behalf of the entire SBMT community, thank you, Kama, for your service and generosity.
