On The 20th Century: In Concert

April 18 and 19, 2026

BOn The 20th Centuryook and Lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green
Music by Cy Coleman
Based on a play by Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthur and also a play by Bruce Milholland

All aboard for our annual spring fundraiser! While last season took us to the North Atlantic on the Titanic, for this trip, we’re hopping On the 20th Century for a night of dazzling, fast-paced musical comedy! This Tony-winning spectacle from Cy Coleman, Betty Comden, and Adolph Green (the team behind past SBMT hits like Singin’ in the Rain, On The Town, and The Will Rogers Follies!) is a whirlwind of romance, ambition, and outrageous antics set aboard a glamorous 1930s luxury train. Follow a down-on-his-luck Broadway producer as he schemes to win back his former muse—now a Hollywood star—before their train reaches New York. With a sparkling score and madcap humor, On the Twentieth Century is a first-class ticket to theatrical delight, with some extra-special touches for the fundraiser event.

The best prices and the best seats

Because The Sound of Music is sold out, we are no longer selling full-season subscriptions. However, you can still get a two-show Flex Subscription that includes Little Women and In The Heights. Our two concert productions—including this one and Let It Show: A Broadway Holiday Celebration—are available as special events at a comparable discount price when added to a Flex Subscription order, or as a standalone purchase at regular cost.

Last year’s Titanic fundraiser was a huge success, with all performers donating their time and talents. That will be the case again for On the 20th Century, and we thank everyone who will be contributing to the fun.

On The 20th Century: In Concert is presented through special arrangement with Concord Theatricals.
