  • Motion to accept the planned season roster (Little Night Music, Little Shop of Horrors, Sound of Music). Passed.
  • Motion to retire the SBMT silver jackets and the award they represent. Passed.

  • Sara asks Steve to follow up with the Mountain Winery person, find out the budget for holding a membership or other event there.
  • Sara will go to the event about AB5 at City Lights Theater, report back to Board.

  • Tacos & Tunes #’s from the last meeting are still accurate, per Jen
  • Needs organization committee to meet to get the processes started

Classes

  • Approximately $7k income
  • Expenses approximately $3900
  • Audition Prep = biggest engagement
  • Janet is now heading up the class program
  • Next round is mid-Feb through April, getting firmed up so it can be included in the SLM program

Donation Drive

  • Sara D. & Steve FB drive brought in monies, THANKS!
  • Setup ‘registered’ organization – The Giving Network (Jen M. to look into this?)
  • $2500 + $400 + $525 + $1000 (from Sara + $1000 matching) + $250 (Steve A’s drive) +$2300 T&T’s = Current
  • Cost = approximately $1k in envelopes, stamps, inserts, etc.
  • The calendar and gifts are AWESOME!
  • Sara, Jordan and Dallas met to try and get a better system and process to send out ‘Thank You’ letters and getting them entered into Vendini
  • Fundraising Chair to help take over the process of sending letters for fundraising by elimination the extra people
  • Goal = $25k, currently looking at approximately $10k
  • Doesn’t include the benevity/corporate matching or online donations
  • Doug idea: create a ‘tel-a-thon’ – idea came from an event that Palo Alto Players did online (Facebook Live event), perhaps something like that?

ED Report

General meeting for the organization – should it be connected to the season reveal? Suggest topics are overview, achievements, and Member Appreciation.  Possible locations:

  • In multi purpose room next door?
  • Warren Hutton house – look at it for future possibilities, might be too small right now
    • “Spring volunteer tea”
  • Steve would like to look into Mountain Winery
    • Sara asks Steve to follow up with the MW person, find out the budget
  • Starbright Theater in a pre-school theater (could do the technical stuff), but no alcohol. On Campbell avenue. Maybe for next time.
    • Test whether they would go to another location

Studio clean-up day? February? Post She Loves Me  – Remove the posters, Put a big poster up with our real name, Possibly reframe and hang the posters in past.

Regulation AB5 law. – Would arts groups be part of this? TBA had some meetings, Trying to figure out what to do. In sync with other groups. Sara will go to the event at City Lights Theater, report back to Board.

Follow-Up from Board Retreat

  • Fundraising committee met to discuss the donation drive.
  • Outreach committee will meet in January.
  • Organization committee to meet on Sunday (December 15).
